Link Love....

Dear Family....

Well,  I guess we should get this ball rolling, in a manner of speaking.   I thought it would be good to let you know that I have received many lovely and encouraging emails from various family members regarding the blog.  We seem to have resolved the existing issue surrounding leaving comments.  You do need to 'click' anonymous if you don't have a blogger (or other) account.  Feel free to set up your own blogger account - it is free and you do not have to blog to have one.  Otherwise, please leave a comment and if you would, sign your name at the bottom of each so that we know who the comment is from.  

Aunt Mary was unsure about the subscribe button.   I'm going to take that out of the design as it doesn't really need to be there.   Just go ahead and bookmark the blog and ignore the subscribe buttons.

Aunt Fran gets the prize for being the first official comment leaver.  I did walk her through it on the phone, but that is a negligible aside.  IF you need help leaving a comment, or you know, just really really miss me, feel free to phone me and I will be more than happy to walk you through commenting as well.  Still, it bears repeating: Auntie Fran wins first comment prize.

Uncle Paul wrote to tell me thank you for all the hard work setting up the blog.  Thank you very much!  But I assure you it really wasn't all that much work!  And even if it was, I'd willingly do it.  Besides, are you all forgetting?  Monica told me to do it, so, as you all know, she-who-must-be-obeyed, was indeed obeyed.  

Auntie Lila emailed me to say, okay, good, yes, got it, thank you.   

Devon wrote me something along the lines of wha?  we have a blog?  what the hell is a blog?   Yes, dearest, we do have a blog.  Hopefully it will prove useful.  

Rita wanted to know what button to push to leave a comment.  Rita, darling, you click the word 'comment' on the bottom right side of each post.  And that's all you have to do.  I promise, it's relatively painless.

Darcy emailed Monica to say he'd left a long and lovely comment on the blog (once or twice even) and that it had vanished into the ether like so much dust.  Monica had the same experience.  I have since fixed the comment stealing bug.  My apologies for not catching it sooner.  Please try again.

As of today, there is no news to report on Dad (Grandpa).  As we said early, we are using this blog as a way to communicate quickly to the majority of you without Lila having to make 30+ phone calls.  Please, please, please, if you have any questions regarding information shared here feel entirely free to call Lila (or Monica, or Mary or whomever is your main source of juicy McKinley information) to clarify.  

Hopefully we will have some news soon.  Please feel free to send along any family news or pictures that you'd like us to post to myself or Monica, when she takes back over.  In the mean time, thank you all for your patience as we set this thing up.

Testing Testing....

Well, we seem to be up and running.   I have resolved all of the problems that I was made aware of, as per the email sent out, but don't hesitate to let me know if there are other things that need to be addressed.
